Our Rooms

Captain Newton’s Inn proudly features three uniquely furnished guestrooms with traditional accents incorporating rich hardwood floors, armoires, and oriental rugs. Each guestroom has its own private bathroom. Each room also has a small wine refrigerator stocked with bottled water and a Keurig coffee maker can be found nearby. The Inn does not serve breakfast but provides a list of places to go and contact information provided in each room. Captain Newton’s Room

Captain Newton’s Room is named after Captain Walker Newton, a renowned river pilot of his time and the builder of this historic home (1886). This room features a luxurious King mattress, sitting area, and full private bath. This room is individually decorated and features rich hardwood floors, flat-screen television, a Keurig, and a sitting area next to a large bay window. Captain Newton’s Room has close access to a second floor porch overlooking a historic park where you’ll find several rocking chairs and a swing for two, perfect for reading, drinking your favorite beverage, and enjoying the southern breeze.

Gracie’s Room

This room is named after the pilot boat that Captain Newton owned and piloted when he built the home. It features a luxurious King bed with a Tempurpedic mattress and private bathroom. This room is individually decorated and features a flat-screen television, a Keurig, and access to a private porch with two rocking chairs. This room offers a separate private entrance.

The Indian Oak Room

The Indian Oak Room is named for one of Southport’s oldest trees (800 years old) located in the park across the street from the inn. This room features a luxurious King bed, separate sitting room, and a private full bath. The room is individually decorated and features rich hardwood floors, armoire, a Keurig, and a flat-screen television. The Indian Oak Room has close access to a second floor porch overlooking the park, where you’ll find several rocking chairs and a swing for two. This peaceful porch is perfect for reading, drinking your favorite beverage, or just enjoying the southern breeze.

The Southport Cove Room

The “Cove” is a downstairs room and is outfitted with a queen bed, private bath and a walk in shower with a grab bar. It is the only downstairs room in the Captain Newton’s Inn. The downstairs also hosts the family room/common area and dining room. Front porches and backyard are convenient.
